Redesignated 8 August 1917 in the National Army as the 15th Engineers (Regiment) (Railway)

Demobilized 15 May 1919 at Camp Sherman, Ohio

Reconstituted 25 August 1921 in the Regular Army as the 15th Engineers

Assigned 24 March 1923 to the 9th Division (later the 9th Infantry Division)

Redesignated 1 July 1940 as teh 15th Engineer Battalion

Activated 1 August 1940 at Fort Bragg, North Carolina

Inactivated 30 November 1946 in Germany

Activated 12 July 1948 at Fort Dix, New Jersey
